Top results in international ontology alignment campaign

The SAMBO ontology alignment system developed by researchers at IDA has performed well at the 2007 Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI). Since 2004, OAEI organizes campaigns aiming at evaluating ontology alignment technologies and comparing ontology alignment systems.

In its first participation in OAEI, SAMBO, an ontology alignment system focusing on biomedical ontologies, performed best and second best in the 'anatomy' track according to the two evaluation measures.

First place in international micro-UAV competition

An international competition for unmanned micro aerial vehicles was a major success for the UAV-Tech group at IDA. The small Pingwing and Link-MAV vehicles won first and third place in their respective classes at MAV-07 in Toulouse.

Statistics: A new group at IDA

The group has moved to IDA from the Mathematics department. This group will continue to lead courses given at the university with IDA as their home department. The move is also expected to create synergies in research and graduate education with the other groups at IDA.

Awarded IDA-thesis

David Rundqvist received the award for best undergraduate thesis 2006 for his report "Grouping biological data". The award is presented annually by IDA and the Computer Society in Sweden, eastern branch (DFö).
