TDDD83 Computer Engineering - Bachelor Project
Examination
Mandatory Attendance
You are expected to be present in Linköping during the term (see LiTH term dates).
- Supervision sessions. Mandatory attendance on-site, or in exceptional cases, active participation via Zoom. Supervision may also be conducted entirely via Zoom, and campus rooms will be cancelled as long as the supervisor deems this arrangement suitable for the group.
- Sprint demonstrations. Mandatory attendance on-site.
- Ethics seminar. Mandatory attendance on-site.
- During workshops, attendance is not recorded by the course leadership, but all students are expected to participate on-site, or the group may agree to find an alternative time that works better.
You may miss two supervision sessions or the ethics seminar without a valid reason (you only need to notify the examiner in advance if you have a valid reason for absence during these sessions). The group is responsible for bringing up to speed any absent member, and the group ensures that a sufficient number of members are present on-site.
Active participation via Zoom
- The participant uses a video camera; all other participants in the session must be able to see the video feed.
- The participant uses a microphone, and all participants must be able to hear them.
- There is a camera in the room on campus.
- There is a microphone in the room that captures audio from all participants (a conference speaker or similar device is required; a laptop microphone is not acceptable).
Exceptions
Valid reasons for absence include illness, medical appointments that cannot be rescheduled, funerals, or similar circumstances. Certain university-organized activities may also constitute valid reasons for attending via Zoom instead of in person (e.g., LiU Elite Sports).
If you have a valid reason for absence, you must inform your supervisor (for supervision sessions) or the examiner as soon as possible to determine whether participation via Zoom or a make-up session is possible; note that you will need to provide documentation supporting your exception. Please note that participation via Zoom is not permitted during auscultation, opposition, and the presentation in sprint 4, as this is not allowed for the corresponding components of bachelor's theses.
Examples of reasons that are not accepted as valid absence include, but are not limited to:
- Private travel (including trips organized by student associations, which are considered private travel)
- Work
- Job interviews
- Vacation / public holidays
- Exams or course components in other courses (check the block schedule)
- Events organized by student associations
In some cases, the schedule can be adjusted so that your group presents at a time that avoids the scheduling conflict you have. However, please note that this typically involves two groups totaling 16 students who must find a time that works for everyone; therefore, you should avoid planning activities on days with mandatory course sessions.
