TDDD38 Advanced Programming in C++

Optional Midterm Test

Sometime in the beginning of the second period of the course there is a a "Test" ("Dugga" in Swedish) session booked in Timeedit. This test is optional and will cover the material from the first period. This is an opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the computer exam setting as well as earn some bonus points for the primary exam at the end of the course.

Signup

To take the test you have to signup to the test no later than one week before the day of the test. The signup opens one month before the day of the test. Follow the WebReg link below to signup.

The test is graded Passed or Failed. A passed test means that you automatically get a passing grade to one of the practical programming assignments (worth at least 4 points out of 11 required) on the final exam. The exact assignment you get a passing grade on is specified in the exam itself and will (approximately) cover the same material as the test.

The midterm test consists of two assignments, both of which are taken from previous exams given. See here for a list of previous exams.

To get a passing grade on the test you must complete one assignment to a satisfactory degree. You may only attempt one of the assignments so read them both and pick the one you think gives you the best chances.

The test covers only things from the first half of the course (up to and including seminar 6) and is meant as a chance for students to:

  1. see how the exam system works,
  2. get a chance to get feedback on their code before the exam,
  3. find gaps in their own knowledge.

It is optional to take this test, but it is highly encouraged to take it since it is the only point in the course where you can get proper feedback on your work.
