TDDE32 Professionalism in Computer Science

Examination

The course features three broad themes that are interconnected in the course. Formally, we assess three separate abilities in the course, related to your understanding of scientific writing, ethics and sustainability. We do this through a series of related writing assignments. Some of these writing assignments require you to answer specific content questions, read scientific papers or conduct other tasks. There will also be longer essays that you write iteratively throughout the course, and which will be the basis for assessing abilities related to all three themes and also be graded.

Information about the various assignments, hand-in 1-8, can be accessed from the course format page.

More informtion about the essays is found on the essays web page.

More informtion on how the essays are graded is found on the grading criteria web page.

Students that fail to deliver a hand-in on time need to write a 3 page report on the seminar.

Students that do not show up on a seminar need to interview 2 students that attended and write a 3 page report on the seminar content.

Student that do not show up on Workshop 2: Analysing the effects of Software Systems using the Sustainability Awareness Framework must do the group excersie on their own. Find a group that does software development, organise a workshop, use the SusAF workbook and follow the steps described on the workshop page and include that work in the essay.

Students that fail to deliver essay sections on time receive no feedback.

After the course deadline there will be two more opportunities, during the exam period in spring and the exam period in August, when essays can be submitted and graded. For those submissions you must point out the changes made to your essay, based on the feedback you have received.
