Seminar 1: Tools and characteristics

The purpose of the seminar is to investigate different open source projects, and to see how projects use different tools and how they are organized. You will also look into how you could contribute to a project.

Seminar 2: Code organisation

The purpose of the seminar is to investigate an open source project, and to see how projects organize code in both micro and marco scale.

Seminar 3: Future Contribution

The purpose of seminar 3 is to prepare you to make a concrete contribution in a project. Given the technical and other requirements for contributing in the specific project, you shall make preparations for a particular contribution requested by a project.

Written report

The seminar series is concluded with a written report handed in by email to your seminar leader (check Webreg).

Examination

The seminar series is passed by completing the following activities:
  • Active attendance during the three seminars.
  • Presentation at the end of one of the seminars.
  • Wiki entry published after seminars 1 and 2.
  • Written report handed in after seminar 3 and passed grading.
