CUAS Topic 1: Temporal and Spatial Reasoning Techniques

Much of the current work in robotics and architectures has been skewed in the direction of perception, control and reaction. This has a tendency to limit their operational breadth in real-world domains. This topic area is intended to focus on the challenging theoretical and pragmatic issues that arise in the development, integration and real-time leveraging of higher level deliberative functionalities such as planning, cooperation, and situational awareness in operational UA systems. A particularly important set of functionalities involves reasoning about time and space. Specific focus will be placed on on-line, real-time temporal and spatial reasoning techniques for robotics.
