Relevance and impact on society

The major contribution of this project is the open source web platform where new modules will be added, as they are developed. Initially from our research group, but we will actively encourage other groups to provide modules of various types, not only dialogue systems, but also system and development tools and frameworks for development of other types of language technology. However, the current project is not dependent on such external contributions.

In relation to the call for proposals the project strengthens the basis for Swedish language technology. The project addresses issues related to industrial use and acceptance of language technology. The open source platform will be available to Swedish industry to stimulate the creation of new, language technology companies, and also strengthen current companies involved in language technology related activities.
