Research Interests

My research interests lie in the notion that human cognitive abilities are situated and distributed in, and with, what constitutes their social and physical environment. Specifically I am interested in older adult's abilities to cope with, and reduce, the cognitive complexity everyday activities hold. Earlier research has indicated that older adults are more likely to utilize their physical and social surroundings to cope with age-related cognitive declines. My goal is to add to the understanding of the process of doing so, mainly by inspiration from ethnographic methodologies.
