Goals

Introduction to human factors and cognitive ergonomics. Introduces and dominant themes and theories that in large part make up human factors and ergonomics today. Focal point is human cognitive functioning in complex, dynamic environments.

Prerequisites

Graduate Student status, or well-qualified undergraduate (as determined by instructor).

Contents

Historical review of human performance theory, distinction between information processing approaches and ecological approaches.
