Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Computer Systems (AIICS)

The main focus of interest for the AIICS division is intelligent artifacts, that is, man-made physical systems containing computational equipment and software that provide them with capabilities for receiving and comprehending sensory data, for reasoning, and for rational action in their environment. Such artifacts range from PDAs to UAVs and mobile robots.

Research and teaching activities in AIICS currently include many sub-areas of artificial intelligence, both theoretical and applied logic, descriptive complexity, computer architecture, and formal modeling techniques used to model discrete and hybrid systems in areas such as computer architecture design and knowledge representation in A.I.
