Deadlines you should set for yourself

Preparation for lectures

To make the most out of a lecture you need to flip through (skim, översiktsläsa) the pages relevant for the topic and make notes of what you think is important/interesting to dive deeper into to fully understand it.

Seminars' deadlines

Seminars are on thursdays, and they cover the material from the lectures from the week before. You need to be prepared to demonstrate your solutions to the class to get all points required to pass the course. In order to have the best possible solution and be really prepared you need to have your solutions ready (or attempted) already on the day of the lecture preceding the seminar. Then you can discuss and compare your solution with that of friends, and if you have common questions or issues you have a chance to ask during the lecture preceding the seminar.

Deadlines that are hard

• Weeks with assignments: You need to announce by a mail to your assistent (subject "[TDIU11] challenge x") clearly describing (e.g. draft, picture) the solutions you are ready to present before each seminar. To get points this must be done before 23:59 the tuesday before the seminar, and you must attend. At 00:00 it's too late.
• Weeks with an article to read: You need to submit your summary (including discussion questions) to your group's assistant and to "filst04.liu@analys.urkund.se" with "[TDIU11] summary x" as subject before 23:59 the tuesday before the seminar. At 00:00 it's too late. You also need to attend and to bring a printout of your summary. If you do not, you will not get credit for attending the seminar.

Recover missed deadlines or lost points

• There are five assignment seminars, each with 8 problems. If you do not manage to solve 16/40 problems and attend the corresponding seminars then you should attend the course next year.
• If you miss one article discussion seminar, or do not pass the article summary assignment: We will have a reserve seminar for a third article. Of course you can also attend the course next year.
