Distributed Heterogeneous Embedded Systems: Analysis and Optimization. *************************************************************************** Our main focus will be on time critical applications implemented as distributed systems, which are typical, for example, in the automotive industry. Efficient optimization of such systems is impossible without proper analysis and estimation methods and adequate design tools. Several new and challenging problems are due to the heterogeneous and communication intensive nature of these applications. We will introduce a system-level design flow for embedded real-time systems, and will highlight the problems of timing analysis, communication synthesis, and functionality mapping.
