ETAI Reader Service

The ETAI services are available to readers in the following forms:

Web page access

Access to ETAI web pages is always free of charge. We are committed to keeping these pages up to date, and to maintain a correct balance between timely update and reliable persistence. The URL:s in the ETAI structure have been chosen in a systematic way, and we intend the URL:s of major pages to stay valid for the foreseeable future, so that it will always make sense to cite them. Please refer to our list of persistent ETAI URL:s for more specifics about which URL:s are intended to be citable.

Direct mail service

Some of the ETAI areas provide a direct-mail service with the latest news, the latest contributions to the debates, etc. These services are still in an explorative stage, and different areas are trying out different ways of doing this. More details are found under each area, in particular under the webpage item for "General Area Information" in each area.

Subscribing and desubscribing for direct mail service is presently done by sending E-mail to the area editor. (We are preparing for a webpage where each reader can enter her or his requests directly, but it has not yet been put in use).

Paper issues

Reading information on-line has both its pros and its cons. Almost all ETAI information is available in HTML, with its special advantages, but there are also two special provisions if you should wish to print out the ETAI information and read it off-line:

  • The ETAI Journal and some of the Newsletters and News Journals are also available in postscript editions. These are more convenient to read than paper printouts of HTML webpages. Postscript versions of Newsletters and News Journals are referenced from the "Back Issues" pages, when available.

At present we only produce postscript, not PDF, but PDF will be forthcoming soon.

  • Normal entry to ETAI and its substructures goes to pages that are organized using frames. Since such pages do not print well under some popular browsers, we also provide similar pages not using frames. Please click "Presentation without frames" at the bottom of the left-side menue in order to switch over to a noframe structure.
