Established in 1980 based on a major grant from the STU organization. The SSRC consisted initially of two laboratories: the Programming Environments Laboratory (PELAB) and the Application Systems Laboratory (ASLAB). The latter consisted in turn of two or three subgroups, where I headed one of them. See the following menu item.
