Computational Autonomy and Information Systems Open Reference

Software Systems Research Center

Established in 1980 based on a major grant from the STU organization. The SSRC consisted initially of two laboratories: the Programming Environments Laboratory (PELAB) and the Application Systems Laboratory (ASLAB). The latter consisted in turn of two or three subgroups, where I headed one of them. See the menu item for ASLAB-OIS for additional information.

An additional laboratory for Artificial Intelligence was later added, headed by Uwe Hein. It was discontinued a few years after, as it was recognized that Artificial Intelligence was an important part of the activities in several of the department's laboratories.
