Change of Paper Handling System for the AI journal: migration to EES

Since 2002, all paper processing for the AI journal has been handled by a web-based system called JARSS, to which the Editors have access, but all communication with authors and reviewers has taken place by email. With immediate effect, all *new* papers will be handled using Elsevier's Editorial System (EES) which provides a web-based interface for all users (editors, reviewers, authors). All papers submitted prior to 27 January 2010 and which have a paper number of the form "aij-xxxx" will continue to be handled by the old JARSS system, including any revisions of existing papers.

Resubmissions of papers which were rejected with encouragement to resubmit will be handled under the Elsevier's Editorial System (EES). During 2010, Tony Cohn will be handling all papers in the EES system and Ray Perrault will be handling all papers in the JARSS system (even if previously handled by Tony Cohn).
