- Air: you can choose among 4 airports:
- JFK (~55 miles from hotel)
- LGA (~50 miles from hotel)
- Newark (~80 miles from hotel)
- Islip (~22 miles from hotel)
For domestic flyers, we recommend the Islip/MacArthur airport, which
is served by several airlines. It is closest to Stony Brook/Port
Jefferson, International travelers should fly into New York JFK or
LaGuardia airport. Expect to spend at least an hour reaching Stony
Brook from JFK or LaGuardia, possibly much longer due to traffic
delays.
- Airport shuttle: airport limos will provide door-to-door
service with share rides or private cars, but should be reserved in
advance - specially if flying into Islip. (The limo driver will need
your flight info, etc, in order to arrange to meet you at the
airport.)
If you decide not to reserve in advance, at the airport, go to the
Ground Transportation counter and they will assist you.
