On The Move – the DLK pathway

Sara Jägare

Learning – a final frontier? These are the voyages of the DLK-project. Its five-year mission: to explore new worlds of learning, to seek out new technology, to boldly go where no trade union has gone before.

Managers log. Project date: 4.9. "As we are closing in on the final lap of our project the crew is starting to show signs of impatience. We are all eager to land and travel our homelands – at the same time we already miss each other’s company. "Lets keep in touch" is the word travelling round our virtual world "Together we can make it".
Our voyage did not start into empty space. Embodied we all carried our pre-understandings. "This is a computer-course, isn’t it?" somebody asked, as we approached well-known objects and felt them change before our eyes.

The Great Battle of the Scientist sent ripples trough our vessel, but left us strengthened. We realised there was room enough for all of us.

We lost some of the unions on the way, fading like stars on a city lit sky. "Let us make this trip for them as well", we said and spoke no more, being very busy with our selves.

We did find new worlds – not always the same worlds, but new. We marvelled, liked and disliked, rubbed our eyes, looked away or stepped closer.

Our journey is ending, and as every ending is a beginning we prepare for what of we know very little, and long to make very much. And this is why we need each other, having explored the same worlds or not.
