Welcome to Stockholm

Stockholm Beauty on Water...

Stockholm was originally built on 14 islands where the lake Mälaren meets the Baltic sea. Water is covering a third of the total area inside the boundraries of the city. Stockholm is a big city, but you will never feel it. Even in the summer heat, the breeze from the sea will find its way into the city, and there are a lot of parks and green areas inside the city that will add to the feeling of being in a small town instead of a capital.

The written history of Stockholm starts some 700 years ago, but there are a lot of runestones and other traces of cultural influence showing that the presence of man has a long history in this area. ------------------
