Director of studies
From August 98 I have been the director of undergraduate studies for courses
in the Systems Architecture area. I continue with this role for the same
courses, as well as some new ones, in the division of Software and Systems
the department reorganisation in January 99.
"Embedded System Simulation and Verification" TDDB30
during the spring term.
"Real-time Process Control" TTIT62
during period 3.
This is the second integrated theme in the 3rd
year spring term
of the PBL-based Information Technology engineering program.
Educational program development
I am currently responsible in the autumn term, second year of the
Technology engineering program and act as the coordinator of the teaching
activities in the 3rd
I have developed the spring semester in the third year of the PBL-based
engineering program together with Dr.
Inger Klein from the automatic control division in the electrical enginnering
department. The aim is to teach operating systems, automatic control, real-time
systems, linear algebra, transform theory and ethics in an integrated manner.
I have been responsible for designing the computer engineering profile
in the 3rd and 4th year of the Industrial
Engineering and management program. I continue my engagement in this
program as the profile contact person ("D-inrikningsansvarig"). Some information
about the structure of the program and the courses can be found on IDA's
In spring 98 I took part in a joint study of educational preferences
of students on 5 educational programs (lasting 4 years or more) at our
department. The project goal was to identify differences in expectations
or preferences among female and male students, across different topics
of study, and in different teaching/examination settings. The result of
this study was a
(pdf, 24 pages in Swedish) which was completed in May1999 (Abstract
on two selected programs in English). The appendix
includes the original questionnaire.
PBL2000 the second international
conference on Problem-Based Learning, Linköping, September 2000.
Courses given earlier:
The following course was given in cooperation with Zebo Peng and Petru
Eles in October - December 99:
graduate course consisting of four modules in which one module was by me
during weeks 45-46 in 97/98:
The course covers several formalisms for specification of discrete systems:
transition systems, automata, Petri nets and temporal logic. It was organized
in separate modules -- I was responsible for the Transition
During week 42 (96/97) I gave a seminar
in the project oriented study program on Engineering Systems Modelling
(ENSYM) organized within the ECSEL
During periods 2 and 3 (95/96) I was involved in a graduate course with
the following description
The course covers the language of statecharts, including the syntax, alternative
semantics (axiomatic and algebraic and variants thereof), as well as a
taste for some practical applications. There is also an element of practical
experience with the commercial tool STATEMATE.
Formal specification of reactive systems: theory and practice
During periods 3 and 4 (94/95 - 97/98) I have given the course
During period 4 (96/97) I have given the course:
Introduction to Computer Science and Computer Equipment TDDB07.
During period 2 (95/96) I have given the course
Real-time and concurrent programming TDDI80.
Computer Networks and Distributed Systems - Part I, TDDI56.
