The bilingual translation grammar for Swedish and English

BiTSE is a computational grammar for Swedish and English. BiTSE can be used both for parsing and generation using the LKB grammar development environment. The grammar is based on the LinGO grammar matrix. The main purpose of BiTSE is machine translation between Swedish and English.

Developer

BiTSE is developed by Sara Stymne at the Natural Language Processing Laboratory at Linköping University.

Documentation

Chapter 6 and 7 of Sara Stymne's master's thesis "Swedish-English Verb Frame Divergences in a Bilingual Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar for Machine Translation" contains a description of BiTSE. Chapter 6 describes the base of BiTSE, and chapter 7 describes how some verb frame divergences are handled in BiTSE.
