Call for Papers

The Society for Modeling and Simulation in Sweden (MoSiS) and the Scandinavian Simulation Society are arranging the 48th Scandinavian Conference on Simulation and Modelling, October 30-31, 2007 in Göteborg, Sweden. The Scandinavian Simulation Society has members in the four Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The SIMS history goes back to 1959. SIMS is organised as federation of regional societies and is a member society of EUROSIM - the Federation of European
Simulation Societies.

The purpose of the anual SIMS conference is to cover broad aspects of modelling and simulation and scientific computation. Every year a special topic will be considered, this year multibody dynamics.

The conference is of interest for model builders, scientists, engineers, vendors, etc. The scientific program will consist of technical sessions with submitted and invited papers and vendor demonstrations. In conjunction with the conference will be a tutorial day.

The Procceding of the Conference will be published electronically by Linköping University Electronic Press. Selected papers will be considered for publication in the EUROSIM scientific journal "Simulation and Modelling - Practice and Theory (SIMPRA)“ published by Elsevier Science. Especially Ph.D. students are encouraged to contribute with papers.

Conference themes:

  • Modelling techniques, languages and tools
  • Coupled simulations (co-simulation, meta-modelling, sub-structuring, interfaces)
  • Multibody dynamics (special focus of SIMS 2007)
  • Verification of models (method verification, physical verification)
  • Numerical methods
  • Visualization of modelling and simulation results
  • Parallel simulation
  • Industrial applications

The conference is organized in cooperation with Linköping University (Department of Computer and Information Science), Lund University (Center for Mathematical Sciences) and the two simulation societies: Scandinavian Simulation Society and Swedish Simulation Society.
