    SL-Center Offices in Inner City

Don't rent a car for use inside the city. It's rather difficult to find a parking place down town, except the parking houses which are expensive. Biking is the only way to compete with public transportation. There are bike lanes in the city, and bikers are also allowed to use bus lanes except those with the blue sign " Ej cykel och moped".

    WEATHER

The weather in the summer can differ a lot between years. You could say there are two "extremes", one good and one not to good. Normally it can be anything in between.

    The good one:
    20 to 25 degrees Celsius, i.e. 68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit, ( (9/5)*C+32 = degrees in Fahrenheit.)
    Sunny, slighty windy.

    The other one:
Temperauture about 15 degrees (59 degrees Fahrenheit)
    Rain almost every day.
    Cold wind.

The weather in Sweden is unpredictable, especially during summer. The best thing to do is to check out a few weeks before departure. To avoid surprices, bring a warm sweater, long pants and a jacket.

    TRANSPORTATION ARLANDA AIRPORT-STOCKHOLM

    AIRPORT BUSES

The airport buses service the route Arlanda-Stockholm 24 hours a day. The ride takes some 30-45 minutes, depending on the traffic, rush hour etc. To avoid missing the flight one should leave Stockholm an hour before check-in time at Arlanda. Check-in time at Arlanda is normally 2 hours before departure time on atlantic flights.
    Tickets
Only one-way tickets only, and they can be bought from the bus driver.
    Ticket price: 50 SEK (one-way).

    DEPARTURE TIMES

    Arlanda-Stockholm (City Terminalen, Klarabergsgatan)

The bus goes through S:t Eriksplan to City Terminalen.

    Stockholm (City Terminalen)- Arlanda

There are no stops inside the city except the City Terminal.

    A COMBINED BUS/TAXI ALTERNATIVE:

If you get on the bus at Arlanda the driver can order a taxi to meet you either at one of the city stops or at Jarva Krog.
You pay 50 for the bus plus 70 or 130 (depending on zone) for the taxi.
You can pick up a leaflet about it on the bus which gives the phone number for ordering a taxi to connect with the bus when going to Arlanda. You can probaly get the same leaflet at the airport. We will supply the relevant phone numbers as soon as we get hold of them.

    TAXI SERVICE TO/FROM ARLANDA

Several taxi companies has "Arlanda Service" from the airport to down town Stockholm, and vice versa. A taxi can be ordered in advance and a taxi driver will meet in the airport's exit hall (after customs). The price for this service (transportation and "waiting" service) should be fixed and in between 290-350 SEK.
You have to give the taxi company chosen the following information (a short list of some companies below):

    Taxi Stockholm
    Phone: (08-)15 00 00, 15 04 00 (in advance order)
    Fixed price Arlanda-Stockholm: 300 SEK

    Taxi Kurir
    Phone: (08-) 30 00 00
    Fixed price Arlanda-Stockholm: 345 SEK

    Taxi 020
    Phone: 020-93 93 93
