Please note that before you can take a seminar, you must sign up for the seminar in the separate Seminar registration system (deadline: November 1. updated link 2010-10-18) (user and password not required). Also, you must have signed up in the webreg system under your study programme, which keeps track of your results in the course. See Examination on the menu. You must be listed in both of these systems before attending a seminar.
A seminar with too few participants may be cancelled. You will be notified via e-mail if a seminar has been cancelled, but will be given an opportunity to select another seminar to attend.
Please note that the library seminars in Norrköping are reserved for students in Norrköping.
There are catching-up library seminars available for sign-up between October 7 and 11 in the Seminar registration system, for those who missed their earlier library seminar because of illness, lateness, etc.
Remember to sign up for the summary seminar, at latest on November 1.
The instructions for the summary assignment are available in pdf.
The Urkund e-mail addresses to the seminar leaders are as follows:
(Replace "at" with "@" and "dot" with "." in the e-mail addresses listed above)
The name of your seminar leader is listed in the Seminar registration system under the seminar that you sign up for.
To the seminar you must bring three copies of your own summary as well as three copies of the research paper that you have summarized.
The summary seminar is organized as follows: first the seminar leader gives a 12-minute introduction to the seminar topic, a recapitulation of what parts a summary should contain, how to give comments and critique of written documents and guidelines for the rest of the seminar. After this the students are divided into groups of three (3 minutes). Each student hands out his/her summary and research paper to the others in the group. Then everyone in the group will read the others' summaries, make comments and review them, time allotted 30 minutes. After the break each group summarizes their reviews and prepares an oral presentation (10 minutes) and then presents what they have learned from each other with regard to writing and reviewing summaries (ca 7 groups with 5 minutes of presentation and room for questions for each group).
Remember to sign up for the summary seminar, at latest on November 1.
The instructions for the review assignment are available in pdf.
You must bring three copies of your own summary and also three copies of the research paper that you have reviewed to the seminar.
The organization of the review seminar is identical to the summary seminar (see above).
