1. Course registration

1.1. I took the course last year but did not manage to do all assignments. Can I join this year and complete the course?
Yes, you can. Make sure to register for the course and then read the course information so that you know if there are any new requirements as compared to last year. If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask the course responsible, but always remember to state that you are an old student and from what year of the course. You should not sign up in webreg again if you already have partial results registered in the system. When you have done the missing assignments, send an e-mail to the course responsible including information about your LiU-ID, what year you took the course and what parts you have now completed in order to pass the course. Remember to include the dates and the names of the seminar leaders for the seminars that you have now attended.

1.2. Could you please register me in the course because I am not able to sign up in webreg.
I am sorry but I do not have the authority to do that. If you are not able to register to the course in the Student Portal (normally it is too late to register), then you must fill in the form "Change of courses" and hand it to the director of studies (see Staff). You can use the same form as for dropping-out when applying for a new registration in a course. See also the Study Guide.

1.3. I have received an exemption from the course and will not have to take the course anymore. Could you please remove me from the course list?
You must de-register from the course manually by filling in the "Change of courses" form and giving it to the study councellor.

2. Webreg sign-up and results

2.1. I am trying to log in to webreg but get this log-in error. What's problem?
You are probably not yet registered in the course. However, if you are sure that you are, but you became registered recently, please wait 24 hours and then try again. (There's is a lag between registering for a course and being able to log in to webreg.) See also the FAQ section on Registering for the course above. If you still are having problems with logging in and/or signing up for a grou pin webreg, send an e-mail to the instructor with a detailed description of what the problem is and how it occurs. Also include the date and time that you request and your LiU-ID.

2.2. I am late with the course registration and will not manage to get a LiU-ID in time before the signing-up for a group in webreg will close. What do I do?
Send an e-mail to the examiner with the name of the group you should belong to in webreg, and he/she will help you with the signing-up.

2.3. I am not able to sign up for a group/master's programme in webreg. There is no slot where I can insert my name. It also says "Unregistered students not allowed".
This means that you must be registered in the course in order to sign up for a group. You must be registererd in order to get the credits for the course. Contact the course responsible with information about what study programme you belong to.

2.4. I have attended a seminar/I have handed in an assignment but have not received any e-mail with the result from webreg. All of my friends who went to the same seminar/handed in the same assignment have already received their results via e-mail from webreg. What should I do?
(If you are an old student, see question 1.1. instead.) If you are a current student in the course, this probably means that you are not signed up in webreg. Please contact the course responsible and book a meeting to discuss the issue. At the same time, you must provide him/her with information about your LiU-id, study programme, what assignment and/or what seminar (type, date and time) you still are missing results for.

2.5. I submitted an assignment/attended a seminar but have not received any results in webreg. When will the results be listed?
Please allow 1-7 working days for the results to be registered in webreg, especially with so many seminar leaders and students involved in the course. If you have resubmitted an assignment to Urkund, then the Urkund-analysis will take another 24 hours to reach the teacher's inbox.

3. Seminar sign-up

3.1. I am not able to log in to the seminar registration system. What should I do?
The log-in credentials are mailed out at latest a week before the first lecture in the course to the course mailing list. If you were not registered in the course at this time then you could have missed this information. Please contact the course responsible in the matter. Note however that in 2010 there is a new seminar registration system that does not require any log-in credentials.

3.2. I accidentally signed up for the wrong group in the seminar registration system and now it is not possible to change. I would like to change to another group. How do I do that?
Send an e-mail to the course responsible with all the details on the matter and he/she will help you.

3.3. I missed the library seminar because I was sick/did not find the place/had the wrong time, etc.. Could you please put me in another seminar group if there are slots free.
There will be extra library seminar occasions scheduled in the second period of the semester. These will be announced both on the course web site and via e-mail to the course mailing list. Also, see the information under Seminars on the menu.

3.4. Can I visit a seminar in Linköping, even though I am a student at a master's programme in Norrköping?
No, you cannot per default, but you may discuss it with the examiner. Please note that the seminar and lecture rooms have a maximum capacity that is calculated based on the students in the respective city and also on the number of students listed in webreg.

3.5. I have tried to sign up for a seminar but they are all fully booked. What should I do?
Contact the course responsible for a solution. There are probably students from the wrong study programme in the seminar group that you want to be in or students that have not signed up in webreg. The seminar-group sizes are based on the number of students listed in webreg and according to the sizes of the different study programmes.

6. Getting course credits

6.1. I attended the review seminar in the course two days ago and have done all the tasks but I have not yet received the credits for the course. What should I do?
Nothing, if you are taking the course for the first time and it has not yet been twelve working days after the last seminar, i.e. there are no more seminars given in the course this year; the credits will be registered in LADOK with the help of the administrator and based on the results listed in webreg. However, if you are an old student and you have attended one of the seminars that you were missing for a full course, then you must contact the examiner with the detailed information about what year you first attended the course and when and what seminar you now have visited and that you now believe that you have finished the obligatory parts of the course and would like to have the credits in LADOK. There is no automatic registration of credits for old students. Please also doublecheck in webreg that all of your parts in the course have been checked as "Passed".

6.2. I have not yet received the credits for the course. I have passed all parts as listed in webreg and it is now more than twelve days since the results were entered in webreg. What should I do?
You must contact the course administrator in the matter. See Staff on the menu on the course web site for contact details.
