TDDD89 Scientific Method

Examination

To pass the course, you will need to prepare and participate in all seminars (UPG2), and submit and get approved an extended thesis plan (introduction, background, related work, project time plan and references), see the UPG1 instructions for details.

The submission deadlines for the seminars and for final submissions are given on the Timetable and Deadlines page.

  • Submissions for the seminars are made through the group folders in the LISAM cooperation area.
Passing UPG2 also requires that you submit (via a submission link on LISAM) your draft thesis plan for feedback on academic writing, by the given deadline.

  • Final submissions of the extended thesis plan (UPG1) are made to your group supervisor via the UPG1 submission link on LISAM, which involves an automatic URKUND/Ouriginal check.
For approval of UPG1, the final submission needs to fulfill the requirements given in the Grading Rubric for at least the yellow level on the requirements for Introduction, Theory (= Background + Related Work), Organization and Language and form. In addition, your project plan section needs to adhere to the requirements given in the description of seminar 5.

You will need to form "spontaneous groups" when you submit via Lisam submission, and include your partner in your group. That way, both will receive information about your submission.

Please note that plagiarism and violations of copyright are prohibited in your theses, and that we as teachers are responsible to report any case of plagiarism. The same holds for everything you submit for this course. Read more on definitions of copyright violations and plagiarism on the University Library pages.
