TDDD03 Industrial Engineering and Systems Usability Issues

Seminars


Participation in the seminars is mandatory for all project group members. The seminars will be held in two groups, where groups 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be led by Jenny Johansson, and groups 5, 6 and 7 by Mattias Arvola. Each group should appoint a main contact person and notify whom that person is to Jenny Johansson, and any communication with the teachers referring to the group’s work should be handled by this person.

Seminar 1: Effect goals, measurement points and persona hypothesis

Friday week 4, jan 25th.

At the seminar, each group is given 10 – 15 minutes to present the work that has been carried out during step 1 of the project. You need to prepare this presentation so that all seminar participants can understand how you have carried out your work, and what your results are. You should also reflect on the process, and relate to the literature for step 1.

All participants in the seminar are expected to participate in discussions and actively take part in the other groups’ presentations by asking questions and providing relevant feedback on their work.

Seminar 2: User evaluations

Friday week 6, feb 8th.

At the seminar each group is given 10 – 15 minutes to present the work that has been carried out during step 2 of the project. You need to prepare this presentation so that all seminar participants can understand how you have carried out your work, and what your results are. You should also reflect on he process, and relate to the lecture and literature for step 2. You will present how you planned and carried out the user tests, and also present your key findings. In these seminars we will also discuss the validity and reliability of the user tests.

All participants in the seminar are expected to participate in discussions and actively take part in the other groups’ presentations by asking questions and providing relevant feedback on their work.

Seminar 3: Suggesting improvements and calculation the ROI of these

Friday week 8, 22nd feb.

The process for the third seminar is similar to the other two, but will focus more on the group work as a whole in addition to presenting the results of Step 3.
