TDDC34 Technical, economical and societial evaluation of IT-products

Course Aim

The general aim of this course is to provide a holistic perspective on models and methods to analyze and evaluate new technology (IT-based products or/and services) and its alternatives as well as its socio-economic-technical effects. After the course, students should be able to take part in discussions about how to evaluate and analyze the impact and possibilities of new IT-ventures and IT-innovations.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding

  • Students shall comprehend the various evaluation methods and models discussed in the course , as well as what they scientific base
  • Students shall apply the methods in practice in a project
  • Students shall search, analyze and apply selected literature related to the core of the course
  • Students shall write and present summaries of the literature

Competences and ability

  • Students shall be able to independently compose summaries of the literature
  • Students shall be capable to work in work-teams of max four individuals with the course project
  • Students shall be able to communicate the results of the project in English
  • Students shall be able to search scientific complementary literature of relevance for the project and course
