Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What should we work on first: the design problem of Seminar 1 or the tasks of Lab 1?
It makes no difference. Keep in mind, however, that the submission deadline of Seminar 1 is earlier than the one of Lab 1. On the other hand, Lab 1 is expected to be more time consuming, and hence it makes sense to dedicate more time to Lab 1.
Q: Should we submit one, three, or six solutions to the design problem of Seminar 1?
Submissions are done in pairs, which are the same pairs as you work in during the lab series.
Q: Should we use Git and GitLab for Lab 1?
It is not required. However, it is a convenient way to share your solutions with other students as well as with your teaching assistant. Using Git is very much appreciated.
Q: Do we need to have a working implementation of our solution to the problem of Seminar 1?
It is not required. A UML diagram and your understanding and ability to explain are enough. However, an implementation might be helpful to verify that your solution is viable.
