732A92 Text Mining (6 ECTS)

HT2 2017

Welcome to the webpages of the course 732A92 Text Mining!

Text mining is the process of deriving interpretable information from text. It is used to identify trends in social media, study cultural developments through the quantitative analysis of digitised documents, and discover drug interactions in medical text – among many other things. The goal of this course is to introduce you to the main components of the text mining pipeline – information retrieval, natural language processing, and statistical modelling – and to enable you to independently plan, carry out, and evaluate text mining projects.
