ABSTRACT = {Design Rationale (DR) is an approach how to justify design decisions. Different design alternatives are evaluated according to criteria. In this process different arguments behind options are described. The paper investigates one approach to Design Rationale developed at Xerox EuroPARC. This approach (concepts and notation) is critically studied. The paper contains also proposals for modification and extension to this DR approach. The critical analysis is performed from a communicative action perspective.},
