Master Thesis - Past Projects - AbstractGraphic TSS Start MonitorID: LiTH-IDA-Ex-01/83 During the development of Ericsson's radio network system, a test and simulation
system (TSS) is being used to simulate the functionality of
different nodes in the network. At present, it is a tedious task for most of the
radio network testers (TSS users) to acquire the information from
the TSS platform. This master?s thesis is aimed to design a user-friendly
monitor system so that the start-up information of the TSS can be
retrieved and displayed explicitly to its user. The procedure of the system
development consists of two parts: the Graphic User Interface (GUI)
part for displaying the information and the Client/Server implementation part
for retrieving the information. It covers the system modeling,
programming source language selection, system design and system implementation.
In system modeling, the Unified Modeling Language (UML)
has been adopted to analyze the system with an Object-oriented method. In
programming source language selection, the choice of Java and C
as the programming language has been discussed and analyzed. Both system design
and system implementation have been divided into two
sections with respect to information display and information retrieval.
Information display mainly covers the GUI prototyping, design and
implementation, while information retrieval includes several proposals of
Client/Server distributed implementation to acquire the information
from the TSS platform. Keywords: GUI implementation, installation data capture Author(s): Wang Wei Contact: Simin Nadjm-Tehrani
