The Life-Cycle of an Article in ETAI

The life-cycle of the ETAI submitted article consists of two main phases: a first phase at the initiative of the author, and a second phase that is driven by the ETAI but with the author as one of the actors. The successive steps in these phases are listed below. More detailed explanations are obtained by clicking the corresponding items in the lower left menu.

The Author Initiative Phase

  • The Author decides to submit her (his) article to the ETAI.

  • The Author formats the article, that is, prepares it in appropriate graphical appearance.

  • The Author posts the article, that is, makes it available on-line in order to make the review discussion possible.

  • The Author submits the article to an ETAI area.

The ETAI Initiative Phase

  • The article participates in an open review period of three months. The review interactions are posted on the web page. At the end of this period, the author has an option to revise the article.

  • The article is sent to two or three confidential referees, who recommend whether the article should be accepted or declined. The referees' reports are posted on the ETAI web page, but while preserving the anonymity of the referees.

  • The article is accepted or declined. The ETAI secretariat and the author make the final arrangements for inclusion of accepted articles in the appropriate ETAI issue.

  • The discussion may continue even after the article was accepted or declined. The Review Protocol Page remains for this purpose. If it should later on turn out that the article had been declined incorrectly, then it is possible to reverse the decision, since the original text of the article has been preserved.
