Electronic News Journal on Reasoning about Actions and Change

Notes Publication System

The News Journal contains two major kinds of entries: discussion protocols and notes. Discussion protocols are composed of the debate contributions that are sent to the Newsletter. Notes are individually authored documents that are shorter than a regular research article, but more distinct than a debate contribution. The typical length of a note is between four and ten journal pages. They can be used e.g. for introductory or other "position" statements in debates, similar to the statements customarily made by panelists in panel discussions.

Because of their length, notes are not included in full in the Newsletter issues. They are put on line as individual documents already on arrival, and a reference to the note is made in the Newsletter issue on the day in question. They are then included in the News Journal issue of the month when they arrived.

Since the News Journal is published in the legal sense, (although without regular peer review), the inclusion of the note in the News Journal provides a published status and a formal citability to the note. For citation, it is recommended to refer to the ENRAC News Journal issue for the month when the note appeared.

For direct WWW links, notes may be referred either by the ENRAC webpage at the Linköping University Electronic Press, or by the dynamic webpage maintained by the ETAIJ. The E-Press version is archival and is guaranteed not to change over time. The ETAIJ version, on the other hand, may be revised over time in order to keep the information up-to-date, for example by changing the links to the homepage of authors as the person moves to a new site.
