At the SAIS yearly meeting on December 6, 1999, the SAIS Board decided to award the best "magisteruppsats eller examensarbete" to three of the submitees instead of giving just one award. This was due to the very high quality of the submissions. On behalf of the SAIS board, it is my pleasure to announce the following winners of the award: 1) A Software Architecture for Four-Legged Robots Christian Guttmann, Stockholms universitet 2) Computational Complexity of Point Algebras for Nonlinear Time Mathias Broxvall, Linköpings universitet 3) Learning from Relevance Feedback in Latent Semantic Indexing Rickard Cöster, Stockholms universitet Each of the winners will receive a travel stipendium for 5000skr. We encourage using the stipendium for the upcoming European Artificial Intelligence Conference in Berlin in the summer of 2000.
