Titel: Improved Unit Testing with Rational Rose RealTime

Abstract:

One of the most time-consuming tasks a software designer has is
generating and maintaining test cases. About as much time as is spent
on the actual coding, is spent on creating and enhancing test cases.
Therefore many software development tools have been developed to
generate test harnesses and test cases automatically. It would be
great to have this made and updated with minimal effort and time
consumption.

Rational Rose RealTime with the add-in Rational Quality Architect has
proven to be a good tool for this. Department of Wideband Radio
Networks Design at Ericsson Radio Systems in Linköping is currently
using a manual way of creating test cases. With the introduction of
Rational Quality Architect they can now enjoy the benefits of an
automation of this creation process. Automation is not the only
benefit, the generation of sequence diagrams as test cases is much
easier than creating more complex state diagrams. The designer will
also get a better overview of the test scenarios.

Overall, as a designer, it will be faster and easier to create and
overview your test suite with the use of Rational Quality Architect.
