Honorable Mention Paper Award at IEEE ISMAR

The paper "Using Augmented Reality to Facilitate Cross-Organisational Collaboration in Dynamic Tasks" by Susanna Nilsson, Björn Johansson, Arne Jönsson was given the Honorable Mention Paper Award at IEEE ISMAR, the top international conference in the area of mixed and augmented reality.

Best Paper Award at CODES/ISSS

The paper "A Standby-Sparing Technique with Low Energy-Overhead for Fault-Tolerant Hard Real-Time Systems" by Alireza Ejlali, Bashir Al-Hashimi, and Petru Eles has received the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Hardware-Software Codesign and System Synthesis (CODES/ISSS).

IET Computers & Digital Techniques Premium Award

The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Editorial Board has awarded the paper “Architecture for integrated test data compression and abort-on-fail testing in a multi-site environment” by Erik Larsson with the IET Computers & Digital Techniques Premium Award.

Award of national prize on gender and equality

The annual prize on gender and equality by the Swedish student union organization was awarded to the Department of Computer & Information Science this year. The motivation was long term education of teaching staff, including junior assistants, with regard to equality and gender issues.

Student designs in Mobile World Congress Barcelona

During the summer of 2008, three mobile phone usage concepts were developed in Linköping. Four design students from various backgrounds applied a user-driven approach to a case from Ericsson.
The work resulted in three visionary concepts for usage of future mobile technology, expressed in terms of products, services and interaction. The focus was on making meaningful representations of mobile technology through personas, scenarios, physical models, etc.
The concepts have attracted a lot of attention. In collaboration between the designers and the media company SitCom Collective, Ericsson presented a set of concept movies at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2009. The movies were also released on YouTube.
