Kent Beck

Kent Beck owns and operates First Class Software, Inc., where he focuses on his two greatest interests, patterns and Extreme Programming. He has helped pioneer ideas like patterns for software development, CRC cards, the xUnit testing frameworks, the HotDraw drawing editor framework, and the re-discovery of test-first programming. He is the author of more than 50 technical articles, "The Smalltalk Best Practice Patterns", "Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change", and (with Martin Fowler) the forthcoming "Planning Extreme Programming". He has also contributed to Martin Fowler's "Refactoring Improving the Design of Existing Code".
