Call for papers
The Excellence
Centre in Computer Science and Systems Engineering (ECSEL) has the pleasure
to announce the 5th Ph.D. Student Conference on Computer Science and Systems Engineering.
The focus of the conference is on the research and practical issues related to
the interplay between computing and systems engineering in the design and use
of complex systems. The goal of the conference is mainly to gather the Ph.D. students
into an environment for the exchange of knowledge and experiences beyond their own
research areas. Researchers and representatives from industry will also be contributing
to the conference. The conference program will include invited talks by senior
researchers, leading industry representatives, and previous ECSEL students who
are currently active in industry, as well as paper and poster presentations by
Ph.D. students.
Submissions
Contributions fall into the categories below:
- ongoing research and/or obtained results
- thesis proposals including problem analysis and possible approach(es)
- interdisciplinary research and development activities, such as results
achieved from project-oriented studies
- results and experiences from projects driven in cooperation with industry
- report on work in progress from industry
As the goal of CCSSE is to have a creative
environment where ECSEL members share and
exchange their research ideas, we also invite
the submission of prepublished original papers. Full
papers should not exceed 4000 words (15 pages)
and should be written according IEEE
format for proceedings. If you are submitting
a paper that has already been published, please
explicitly state the source of publication.
Deadline for submission is September 13, 2004.
As some of the expected submissions have been already reviewed and published, the CCSSE04 PC Committee will adopt a selective review process (not all the submissions will be reviewed). The notification of acceptance will be sent
to you by September 27, 2004. Final versions
of the papers for the proceedings are due by October 4, 2004.
Submission
guidelines
Send your paper submission (pdf only) using our on-line service (closed).
Both regular and poster papers are limited to 15 pages. Paper formatting should
follow IEEE guidelines
(double column, size 10 font). LaTeX style and sample file are available here.
If you have enquiries or any problem with electronic submission, please send an
e-mail to ccsse04@ida.liu.se.
Language
Papers must be written in English. The presentations
can be made in either Swedish or English.
Presentations
The presentations should be addressed to the
ECSEL audience assuming only the common knowledge
at the level of ECSEL's foundational requirements.
